Swiss multidisciplinary festival Mapping will take place from 9th to 11th of May in Geneva marking their fourteenth edition.
Founded in 2005, Mapping has through the years built a reputation for the high quality of its diverse programme in the various fields of audio-visual art it offers. Their dedication to serving a variety of events and activities focused on art, continues this year by including audiovisual performances, installations, DJ sets, live shows, talks, panel discussions and workshops in their program. Performances include renown acts such are Alessandro Cortini, Moris Simon Geist, Plaid and Felix’s Machines, Tolouse Low Trax, Lanark Artefax, Tobias, Patrick Russell and many more.
On its opening day, May 9th, the festival will start with Paradigm_Shift, an international forum happening for its second edition where there will be discussions and lectures by curator Carmen Salas on the theme “Human + Machines by Design, not by Default,” while at night there will be a performance by Plaid & Felix’s Machine. On May 10th different workshops will be held during the day relating to creative coding, machine learning, augmented reality, synthesizer making, interface prototyping, data visualisation and more. The festival’s last two days, May 11th and 12th, will be dedicated to live evenings with different artists set to perform live and DJ sets including Tolouse Low Trax, Inga Mauer, N.M.O, Markus Heckman, Mika Ventura, Adrien Boulanger, Tobias and Patrick Russell.
The festival’s activities this edition will mostly take place within the new urban campus of the HEAD Genève, with the exception of the performance MANU/FACTORY by Transforma, the urban intervention City Lights Orchestra by Antoine Schmittand for the VR device Idioritaime {Your Skin Is My Sky}.
