Lunchmeat Festival has announced the second wave of artists participating in this year’s edition, taking place throughout numerous venues in Prague, Czech Republic, from October 4th till 7th.
The European-based festival Lunchmeat was founded in 2006, dedicating themselves on advanced electronic and opportunities to new media artist based in Prague. Lunchmeat claims to invite artists and “carefully selected creators from different art spheres together on one stage, creating a truly synesthetic experience.” There will be highlights from Actress, Amnesia Scanner, who will both play live audiovisual sets. Other live performances include Neon Chambers (Sigha and Kangding Ray), Awali and Frances Sander, Demdike Stare and Michael England, and many more. The newly announced names are a follow-up of the festival’s first wave lineup, which includes Lee Gamble, Aïsha Devi and Fatima Al Qadiri amongst others.
Furthermore, in this year’s edition, the Lunchmeat Festival will host anniversary showcases from UK labels Downwards and Night Slugs. Both imprints mark special celebrations, Regis’ Downwards marking 25 years since its launch, and also Night Slugs marking a decade of released material. Regis will represent Downwards with a yet to be announced supporting lineup. Night Slugs’ performance will feature sets from the label’s founders Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990, as well as Girl Unit, in collaboration with visual artist Nic Hamilton.
