The enduring inspiration of The Jaffa Kid reflects on his numerous compositions, which constitute a continuous creative process. Daniel Pringle, hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne, appeared on the electronic music map twenty years ago, currently having an extensive catalog of more than a hundred of digital and vinyl outputs. His last release Phemeral EP on the London-based label, Kulture Galerie, marks the first tape by The Jaffa Kid as part of the new Digital Artefacts series. Maintaining a multi-flavored sonic palette, the hard-working producer has been skillfully oscillating between the edges of the electronic music spectrum. Across his compositions, he blends techno, ambient, jungle, and IDM with analog warmness and reminiscent trips down the genre’s memory lane.
All those trodden sonic terrains delightfully fuse their hues in The Jaffa Kid’s selection for the 82nd Orb Podcast. With an intriguing pace and a curvy mixture, the mix commences with a sensational vocal-backed and bass-charged electro-pumping. Throughout the selection’s duration, there is a playful interplay of highs and lows, leaving traces of spontaneous collisions between cavernous acidic drips, wobbling vibrational cuts, and twisted chords. On that throbbing diversion and filling immersion expertly crafted by The Jaffa Kid, every sound complements the overall flow and vibe, keeping the correct air levels in the room.
