As the son of an accomplished jazz guitarist and a pop singer, Lisene (real name Marlon Morris) was brought up surrounded by a wide spectrum of music from an early age. Living in the cultural melting pot of Brixton, his exposure to DIY soundsystem culture as well as his own musical experimentations with family and friends, naturally lead to an interest in both the scientific and musical side of studio work.
A notable collaboration with longtime friend Adam Pits as Space Cadets on Seven Hills catapulted Lisene onto the radar of the electronic music scene, earning him gigs across the UK and Europe. Known for his refined record collection and ability to surprise, his sets channel the spirit of ’90s rave culture while pushing futuristic sounds, artfully blending techno, trance, breaks, and electro into a kaleidoscopic, seamless experience.
For Orb Podcast 081, his first-ever studio mix sequenced in Ableton, Lisene carefully curated a selection of tracks from some of his favorite contemporary producers, along with personal classics and cuts from his recent album and back catalog. He approached it with an unhurried mixing style, allowing each track to breathe and focusing on maintaining an atmospheric, cinematic feel throughout.
