Orb Premieres: March 2025

The gentle, invigorating touch of early spring brings a vibrant and expressive collection of new tracks to the Orb Premieres. The creators of these pieces focus on evoking feelings of elation or introspection, resulting in a premiere summary that feels both relieving and rewarding. Spanning fourteen tracks, this diverse range of sounds offers a subtle sense of adventure, supported by rich and imaginative sonic arrangements. Whether cultivating a dream-like soundscape, driven by energetic beats, or simply embracing creative momentum, each producer has contributed their unique and radiant piece to this beautiful mosaic.

Pianeti Sintetici & Simon Oak – Pluviale

“Pluviale”’s meditatively warm and tenderly rippling pulsations, entangled in spiritual vines, emerge from Pianeti Sintetici and Simon Oak’s collaboration in the Amazzone EP to cordially welcome the exploratory intentions into an eerie, tropical sensation, following the initiation of a warrior-huntress through dense organic surroundings.

Fluxion – Magenta

Progressing with smooth pumping and alluring textures in an immersively soulful-dub setting, “Magenta” from Fluxion showcases a pleasing conjunction of soft pacing and seductive, nocturnal vibes moving along with delicate sonic oscillations. The track is from Fluxion’s tenth album, Haze, out on Vibrant Music.

Madteo – Nocturnal Palates

Wobbling distortions, jumpy hats, and oblique keys assemble on the gritty coating Madteo weaves on “Nocturnal Palates” in the adventurous Misto Atmosferico E Ad Azione Diretta LP on Unsure, a jolting, shifting, and edgy piece of deformed frequencies outlined in a unique groove.

Andrea Cichecki – Diffused Reflection Of Yourself

Andrea Cichecki reenacts in this journey, “Diffused Reflection of Yourself,” the evolution of the human psyche as shaped by memories and emotions falling like stars from the night sky, creating a heart-warming, intuitively intimate, and highly colourful yet cosmically-toned and tuned tale, found on her debut album Drawn Into The Edge Effect on Castles in Space.

Luigi Tozzi – Cenotes

Luigi Tozzi’s bewitching pummelling in “Cenotes” establishes an absorbing cerebral sequence of dynamic deep cuts, further enhanced by sudden energy bursts, textural drops and fades, while gradually solidifying the layers by evaporated subterranean hues. “Cenotes” is taken from the new VA SENSE003 by the Italian label Sense Code.

Sunju Hargun – Ruak

Carried through light, precisely spaced drum patterns, the humming chants from an isolated eastern temple in Sunju Hargun’s “Ruak” meet an alleviating yet hypnotizing theme that brings forth an encircling aura of inspiration and harmony. “Ruak” is the final track of The Golden Triangle, the first of the two-part debut album by Siamese Twins co-founder Sunju Hargun.

Evigt Mörker – Kentsk tärna

Evigt Mörker’s sharp drilling and trembling kicks in “Kentsk tärna” create extensive fissures, unleashing swaying drones through the cracks with gained momentum from high-pitched pinches and portraying this vibrant and obscure tapestry in SCOPÁVIK’s Obsidian Tide compilation.

Om Unit & Soreab – Last Breath

The transitions of Om Unit and Soreab in “Last Breath” between a dream-like stratum and stern bass lines with grounding percussive reverberation fabricate a stunning auditory posture, reflecting a rewardingly productive chemistry of smoothly intertwined perspectives and motivating pushes. “Last Breath” is found on their first joint record, Pressure 3D, on Baroque Sunburst.

DJ Sofa – Drums For The Lost

A nostalgically-driven delivery of early, pure, and twisted drum ‘n’ bass vigorous sonic conventions, with the right amounts of intricate turns and shifts, is what DJ Sofa presents in “Drums For The Lost” innately attached to the merge between the contemporary and foundational, in the original take of the track from Swinging Flavors #14, out via Beat Machine Records.

Solma – Capsid

Solma’s contemporary shamanistic waveflows in “Capsid” shape a spiralling, hypnotic arrangement through warped tones, dreamy drops and ecstatic cuts, strolling along subliminal corridors explored in parallel with five more excursions in Organic Signs’ Neodruidic Transmissions VA.

noRecall – Junkyard Cat

The deep-reverberating pulsations of noRecall’s “Junkyard Cat” enable a series of balanced, slow-prancing, and sharp-edged breaks, freely advancing into the cinematic distance with their scaling fluctuations. The track is from noRecall’s debut release, Esoteric, in the Erbium family.

Briain – Murphy’s Law

Navigating through the depths of electronic circuitry on waves of distorted synth motifs, Briain’s “Murphy’s Law” from Cognitive Dissonance, the latest drop on Art-E-Fax, creates a stirring soundscape based on imaginative, coarse flappings, and comforting yet shaky beats.

Inferior Design – Ilion Container

Within “Ilion Container”’s spectrum of eerie calmness and sense of loneliness amidst barren, noise-dripping terrains, Inferior Design weaves a continuous emotional contrast ranging from unsettling screeches to elongated and warm contemporary paddings. The track is part of Inferior’s Design journey in the debut album …to be whole, out via MONTAGE.

Walt McClements – Parade

Embraced by a strong and broad vision, Walt McClements infuses positive stretches in “Parade”’s dramatic setting, converging a vivid range of sounds from different instruments for a refreshing, soul-stirring tonal balance followed by a vocal testimony. “Parade” is in Walt’s literature-inspired, second full-length On A Painted Ocean on Western Vinyl.
