Orb Premieres: January 2025

The new year for Orb Premieres starts with eight fresh pieces from a diverse range of electronic compositions collected in the midst of winter. Some of them lean towards immersive motifs, while others rely on innate atmospheric depth, or fluid, hypnotic textures. January’s premiere closes with a psychoacoustic sensation by a unique collaborative release. Without loosening the grips on their artistic vision, the producers contributed tracks that exude a refreshing, mood-enhancing breath.

Xiaolin – Breath of Water

Xiaolin’s “Breath Of Water” revitalizing and groovy percussive meddling generates a series of uplifting, ethereal pulsations organically woven into its subtle, atmospheric tapestry. This is one of the four tracks contained in the upcoming Harmony Rec.’s compilation EC359.

Altjira – Overnal

The deep, confluent streams of a unique, primordial bewilderment in Altjira’s “Overnal” are carried by the pompous taps and overactive sways while encircled by cavernous, prismatic bleeps through subterranean corridors. “Overnal” is extracted from Altjira’s full-length debut Flux Serpent, out on Mirror Zone’s sub label Optic Portal.

U.T.O – Lord Nelson

In Unidentified Turning Object debut EP, “Lord Nelson’s” quirky futuristic transpositions blend their irregular, amorphous schemes for a fluid, geometrical wavering over a somewhat minimalistic terrain.

Simone Gatto – The Ego Envelope

An expanding, dream-like immersion envelops the blooming textures in Simone Gatto’s “The Ego Envelope” with its soothingly harmonic sequencing, highlighting the shimmering textural interweave with an airy, lucid pattern, and conveying its message through Invisible Love album on Pregnant Void.

Wahono – Daun Hitam

Wahono’s oriental hypnotism and governing tribalistic tapping in “Daun Hitam” sculpts the tempo for an otherworldly dance via its reverberating rhythmicality, maintaining its core spiritual journey all over Hawa Hina Dina on the new Singaporean label Strange Weather.

Radart – Wish

Radart’s elusive currencies in “Wish” elegantly merge their distorted pinches with exhilarating atmospheric breezes to form eclectic and circulating transitions, making Blips & Bleeps the first 12” LP release of Paper-Cuts for the year.

A.Denial – Slideshow

The controlled cosmic conflagration of A.Denial’s “Slideshow” is pushed further to the beyond through heavy pushes and pumps, hovering hypnotically over an astral cinematic background and transmitted from the LIFE STORY album on Diffuse Reality Records.

If Anything, Suspicious & Aleksi Myllykoski Feat. Heikki Lindgren – Dexseven

A mystical collaboration between If Anything, Suspicious, Aleksi Myllykoski, and Heikki Lindgren moulds medieval echoing chords into a progressing psychoacoustic sensation, embroidered with melancholic, low keys and smooth noise gusts, out via Signature Dark’s eighteenth release Aleatoric Psychoacoustic Frequencies.
