Orb Premieres: February 2025

February’s collection of Orb Premieres is focused on six tracks from the productively vibrant European continent, stretching from Poland to France and towards the capital of Ireland. The latest additions are distinguished by their playful tones and gripping dynamism, blending sentiment with charming, occasionally hypnotic vibes. From those entries, a prismatic canvas is created, overstepping the mundane and realistic with imaginative infusions, while encompassing a set of absorbing reflections and sonic hues.

Lotus Fx – Twin Peaks

The mesmerizing drone maze of Lotus Fx’s “Twin Peaks” decorates the peak of its obscure progression with melancholic padding, which pierces through the bleak obscurity developed from isolated moments of existential emptiness. The track is taken from the duo’s upcoming BLENDE01 LP on BLENDE HUB, the new sub-label of instinkt lab.

alyrik – Weirdict

Strolling with delicate manoeuvres through the constantly plane-shifting and evolving landscape of different sonic motifs, alyrik’s “Weirdict” stands out due to its chromatic oddity, capturing, in the self-released Egochroma, not only his various moods and sentiments from the previous year but also the outpour of a focused practice.

Casper Hastings – Tangerine Meme

A gripping, stormy bass collides with smoky electro flutters in Casper Hasting’s “Tangerine Meme,” creating jolting iterations with heaps of gripping energy and dynamism surrounded by a fleeting percussion, and acting as the entry point to the upcoming Recreational Murder EP on Yin Yang.

Anta Doma – Void Drifter

The numbing, tantalizing and multi-layered, intricate beats of Anta Doma’s “Void Drifter” sculpt a unique, hypnotizing formula, calling for a deep sync with the ancestral, transcendental mysteries transmitted from unknown cosmic strata as captured throughout the newest Serendipity EP on SousTraitance.

OTON – FM Therapy

Pushed by granulating kicks and covered in an eerie ambience, OTON’s “FM Therapy” transitions through a secluded chamber of echoing keys to a glade of trance-like tempo drifts for an electrifying dancefloor output full of hypnotic-pumped whirls. With the New Forms Of Silence LP on Alliance, OTON delivers a fourteen-track, hardware-based release of a live-act quality.

Jamida – Align Align

Enchanting and atmospheric, Jamida’s silky “Align Align” passes through obscurely-draped corridors and is doused with cosmic drips, gently formulating a layered synthesis of charming frequencies and rhythmicality and initiating, with this same-titled EP, the HARMONY-X explorative series by Harmony Rec.
