MUTEK Montréal announces the first wave of artists participating in the festival, which is running from the 22nd to the 26th of August this year.
Taking place in Montréal since the year 2000, MUTEK has been serving attractive program concerning the development of the digital medium in art. The festival has always included diversity when it came to curating the schedule, including the experimental but also the playful side of music, sound and audio-visual experience. The event spreads in Mexico, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Dubai, San Francisco and Tokyo, annually presenting their concept around the globe.
The first wave of artists for this years program has been announced, and it includes names such as Clap! Clap!, Lanark Artefax, Aleksi Perälä, LADA (Dasha Rush and Lars Hemmerling), Machine Woman, Yagya, Akiko Kiyama, Chloé and Steevio & Suzybee among many others.
The festival is cooperating with Keychange—an international initiative empowering women in the field of digital art, organising discussions and performances two days before the festival starts, with topics concerning this matter.
