teamLab will hold a multidisciplinary art exhibition called Au-delà des limites at La Villette in Paris, from May 15 to September 9.
The Japan-based collective stays creatively faithful to their concept of unifying different mediums of art into one composition. They believe that the digital domain is able to push the boundaries of art, therefore their team includes professional artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians and architects destined to bring life to their concepts.
Their new exhibition Au-delà des limites will showcase “multiple artworks including new installations that move freely and intermingle with each other, forming a unified space. Like previous installations, visitors will be fully immersed and able to interact with works. By making people part of the work through interactivity, and having the works transformed due to the presence of people, the exhibition explores a new relationship that transcends the boundaries between the self and others, and between people and the world.
The works include Universe of Water Particles on Au-delà des limites, an enormous virtual waterfall rendered in real time that extends beyond the wall of height 11 meters and width 26.5 meters onto the floor, flowing through the exhibition space and splitting around the feet of the visitors. In addition there will also be the evolved versions of Peace can be Realized Even without Order, and Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as well, Transcending Space to name a few. Opening prior to the launch of Japonismes 2018, installations are under way for the grand opening on May 15, 2018.”
