Eurorack manufacturer Mutable Instruments has revealed a new module called Plaits.
The new module is the successor of the popular module, Braids, but with an entirely new redesigned hardware and software with no screens, menu system and hidden settings. “Thanks to additional CV inputs, and to the use of three timbre-shaping parameters per model, Plaits is straightforward to use, and much closer to the ideal of one synthesis technique = one model. What were fragmented islands of sound in Braids are now part of a continuum of sounds.” Plaits include a wavetable oscillator, two-operator FM, chord generator, and various analogue drum emulations.
Mutable Instruments Plaits module will be available next week for the price of €229.
