Orb Premieres: September 2024

By the time the sun sheds its warmth and the winds blow colder, we know another sweet summer memory has passed. When the daylight becomes dim and the night begins to grow, the season of falling leaves is upon us. Close to the autumnal equinox, another mark is on the horizon; the return of the clubbing season. Longing for music’s most intimate and warm embrace through sweaty dance floor sessions or some captivating indoor performance, we present September’s chapter in the Orb Premieres. Here, you will find all those different, yet welcoming electronic spectrum hues to enjoy autumn’s most delightful ambience.

Stefan Vincent – Another Skin To Wear

Blooming amidst a polyrhythmic tropicality, Stefan Vincent’s “Another Skin To Wear” eloquently projects its fluctuating core through prismatic arrangements of a highly sentimental temperament. That work is part of the Post Melancholy LP on MUSAR Recordings.

Entrañas – Caverna

Entrañas shares with “Caverna” a lasting moment of connection and tranquillity, provoking an awed immersion to the governing spiritual world through delicate atmospheric loops deepened with tribalistic percussion and exhilarating breaths. The track is from the same-titled full-length debut out on Infinite Machine.

Diffused Signal – Zend

In Diffused Signal’s “Zend,” the fluidity on which the sweeping and revolving aetheric currents clash with heavily galloping kicks enhances the acoustic depth with a warm trajectorial organicality. “Zend” is released in the Lumorea EP on Accents Records.

Anecho – Chewy

The periodicity of the synthetic disarrayment and scaled breaks in Anecho’s “Chewy” methodically incites a heated groove, spreading electrifying energy to the bass-backed foundation. “Chewy” is part of the Nightshade 2, the second compilation from UK’s Mid:night Cut.

TAMA – Capsule

After warped passages and mild acidic drops, TAMA’s “Capsule” rhythmicality rearranges itself to vibrating peaks and mid-paced kicks before progressing further to combine the elements’ accents into an intensely emerging projection. The track is in the third compilation Voices 03, from Predawn Records.

STUPR – Buzzing Bumblebees

The playfully abstract tones and sturdy beats in STUPR’s “Buzzing Bumblebees” create a deliriously contrasting environment where the fusion between suspense and exhilaration is unexpectedly comforting. STUPR released “Buzzing Bumblebees” on the Cult of Coriolis EP out via 909 Connection.

IDA – Currents

With a bold and passionate approach, IDA’s loops and modules in “Currents” trigger a dynamic, dance-floor-oriented sonic spectrum swerving through trembling lows and tense highs in the Daily Rituals EP on Sävy Records.

Alan Backdrop – Gravity Self

Heavy percussion blows, and unsettling, edgy cuts develop their dense form within Alan Backdrop’s obscure “Gravity Self” soundscape to purify the hazy scenery with driving ferocity. The track is from the split SENSE002 EP on Sense Code.

JC Laurent – Rekt

The high levels of energy from the forceful beats and frenetic bleeps in JC Laurent’s “Rekt” form a powerful setting which mesmerises with its revolting tempo and solid mould, adding a firm contribution to the other three tracks in the Unseen Dimension EP on Cielo Records.
